So, after we started a discussion in Twitter.... I think this is a better way.
Here my thoughts: I´m sure I will not go to Italy (too hot, need to fly again, too much money,...). But I play in my mind to go to Spa. Why Spa?- Its easy for me to get there (only a bit more than 2 hours with my car). So I booked a double room near Spa from the night saturday to sunday 2 weeks ago. I can decide until 3 days before if I want to go because I can cancel the room free until then. If I go depends on different things. If Kimi would really end his career (please not ) I would go. If I can meet some of you I would go too. GA is okay for only 2 days. Not ideal but okay. Should be around 150 € for the weekend. And if I´m there I could play taxi for other people
But I´m sure our sunflower will be not happy with GA. The weather is often awful in Spa. In 2013 we got very, very wet and cold one day. Let me hear what you think...
Thank you Jalumi. I won't be able to make a decision until beginning of July, so I am not the best person to make a deal with if I can't go to Spa I will be playing with Monza variant I can't say I am VERY interested in FPs, I am not that big fan I guess
so I am not a best person to rely onto in this situation. I would say - if you guys go, I will try to do my best. If you don't I probably wont' either. just found Olga's question about transport from 2012 on Trip Advisor...
which area around the place is better for the hotel?
Nomad, you're the rider so mysterious Nomad, you're the spirit that men fear in us
one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star - it's a satanic drug thing you wouldn't understand...
Yes, GA for me is out of the question, especially for Spa. I suffer with possible rain and cold...and the forest mud... not for me guys....even the sun can be terrible, as in Monaco. I hate to be punished during a race.
Hotels are bitterly, really bitterly expensive ( and all booked by this time) in the Belgian nearby area. They are of course less expensive as far as you go from the area. A car is needed in any case. The vacation houses we stayed in the past are rather reasonably priced, but most booked by now as well...I guess it's all in the air...
everyone. I really wish I could join you all for a European race. If Kimi makes it one more year.. I could probably do it next year. I just can't do it this year. We are spending money on home renovations and we have a lot of travel plans this year.
Spinne.. If you want a great experience.. We have 7 guys in a house for the Austin race this year. Want to be #8?
First to start with the house, as I don't like to take a hotel in the weekend of F1. I found 3/4 houses which are very good and rated about 9/10 on ardennesetape. I have very good experience with this site and it's known for good quality. The houses i found are located about 6 km from the circuit and the prices are about 400 euro for the period (20,21,22 - 3 nights - if we can divide it with 3/4 people than it is very cheap!!). It was possible in most of them to stay with 8 persons on 2/3 rooms. So I just need to know who is absolute sure who wanna join? I can book these things and u guys pay me back.
For the tickets of f1... I do understand olga and never would take the risk of choosing GA... u never know what weather it will be!
So for those who wants I think the GA for the weekend was 130 euro
But i found some very nice other tickets:
Bruxelles (Silver 4 - covered seats - big screen - Rivage corner and nice place to sit): 365
La Source (Best place for me, I think olga and andrea sat there in 2012 - Gold 7 - covered seats - big screen - pit lane view): 480
GP2 (the straight down after la source - very good tribune) : 480 euro - perfect view for la source and eau rouge - but you don't see start/finish)
Would be nice to know how wants to join... i can book tickets too if we want to sit together...
Is it possible to let me know before wednesday 01/07 who wanna join?
And dear lovely members... do not forget kimi is always special in spa... no matter in which car he drives and it COULD be his last gp here...
Spinne: if you're truly interested.. We are all flying in on Wednesday, 21 October and leaving on Monday, 26 October. You just need to pay for your flight if you want to join. I will cover your costs for a GA ticket, the House, and our car (although it may be a tight fit if we really have 8)!
We all fly into Austin, TX. My guess is the travels will be long.. As you'll likely have to make a layover in Europe and the USA to get to Austin. Let us know!
Well, if it's going to be a good weekend for Kimi finaly, I won't mind waiting for it. And it certaily will make the waiting for the next GP a lot easyer.
