ZitatLoeb and Raikkonen tipped for Le Mans 24th January 2011
Seven-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb has been tipped to return to the Le Mans 24 Hours this year: an event that he has already contested twice, with a best result of second place in 2006.
Loeb came close to a Le Mans seat in 2010 with Peugeot, before deciding to prioritise his World Rally Championship campaign and testing commitments with the new Citroen DS3 WRC.
Now though, with Loeb likely to retire from rallying at the end of 2011 – especially if he wins the title again – the 36-year-old is looking at his racing future for 2012 and beyond.
With the Le Mans 24 Hours scheduled for 11-12 June this year, between the rallies of Argentina and Greece, Loeb would have time to take part in the endurance classic – which is not always possible due to the demands of the WRC calendar.
Former Grand Prix Champion Kimi Raikkonen – who will contest 10 rallies this year in a Citroen DS3 WRC – is also keen to race at Le Mans. Discussions have taken place with Citroen’s sponsor Red Bull about the possibility of running a Peugeot 908 in Red Bull colours at Le Mans; with the two rally stars among the driver line-up.
Raikkonen will only miss the rallies of Mexico, Italy and Argentina this year, although more rounds could be forthcoming if extra budget is secured.
Raikkonen & Loeb possibly this year, with Peugeot at Le Mans 24 hour race...
Multi-annual Peugeot driver Pedro Lamy, has moved to BMW..
The 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans (24 Heures du Mans 2011) will be the 79th Grand Prix of Endurance, taking place on June 11–12, 2011 at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France, and organised by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). It will be the third round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, and for the first time since 1992, it will be the first time as a part of a World Championship or International Cup, when it was part of the World Sportscar Championship.
New 2011 regulations
2011 will mark the first major revisions in Le Mans regulations since 2007, with significant changes on both the Le Mans Prototype category (LMP) and the Grand Touring category (GT).
The new ACO rules state that the current LMP1 cars (2007-2010) will be rendered obsolete so new prototypes would have to be created. Engines in the LMP1 are similar to the engines in the LMP2 prior to 2010 (maximum engine sizes are: 3.4 L (3400 cc) for naturally-aspirated engines with eight cylinders maximum; 2.0 L (2000 cc) for turbocharged petrol engines with six cylinders maximum; 3.7 L (3700 cc) for turbocharged diesel engines with eight cylinders maximum).
LMP2 engines are reduced to those similar to GT2; the engines must be production-based. LMP2 will also be focused on lower costs; the maximum cap for an LMP2 car will be set at €400,000 (€325,000 for chassis, €75,000 for engine). Lola Cars International was the first manufacturer to announce two different LMP2 cars, the open cockpit B11/40 and the closed cockpit B11/80; BMW, Ford, Honda (HPD), Jaguar, Nissan and Toyota engines can be fitted into a B11/40.
Hybrid vehicle drivetrain systems will be extensively allowed with the new regulations, which include kinetic-energy recovery systems (KERS; no push-to-pass systems - KERS in LMP cars must be activated with the accelerator pedal), as well as four-wheel drive (non-hybrid vehicles will remain two-wheel drive, specifically rear-wheel drive). All LMP cars will be weighed at 900 kg (2,000 lb). In addition, LMP bodywork must have a Formula One-style vertical fin on the top of the engine cover to reduce lift tendency and such "flipping" airborne crashes such as the 1999 race with three incidents by the Mercedes-Benz CLR, the most famous is by Peter Dumbreck and the 2008 1000 km of Monza crash by Stéphane Ortelli with the Courage-Oreca LC70.
GT1 will not appear at Le Mans due to numerous date clashes, and that the majority of these cars are now sprint-based, both reasons having to do with the newly reformed FIA GT1 World Championship. (The FIA GT1 World Championship, first run in 2010, will be the premier racing series for GT1 cars starting in 2011.) Therefore, GT2 is bumped up the premier GT class, known as the GT Endurance category and will be separated into two classes, GT Amateur and GT Pro, with a trophy for each section. However, rules do allow 2010-spec GT1 cars to take part on GTE Am -class.
Entries
With the construction of a 56th pit that was designed for the 56th entry in the 2010 race, there will be 56 spaces for the 2011 race. Unlike 2010, the 56th pit from 2011 onwards will not be accepted to normal LMP/GT competitors. The ACO have claimed that they will accept a 56th car from anywhere outside of all the ACO rules and regulations and any Le Mans-based series, providing that this vehicle in question demonstrates the use of green environmental-friendly technology.

ZitatJaguarRSR confirms Junqueira, Da Matta and Jones
It is with great pleasure and excitement that JaguarRSR announces its plans for the 2011 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr?n season to run two full-season JaguarRSR XKR GTs with what is turning out to be a star-studded driver lineup. One of the entries will see open-wheel stars Bruno Junqueira and Cristiano Da Matta kick off their GT racing careers on the JaguarRSR full season roster and P.J. Jones has been signed to pilot the second entry and awaits confirmation of his teammate.
Bruno Junqueira, co-driver of the #99 JaguarRSR XKR GT
“I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to compete in the American Le Mans Series; it is a series that I have been looking forward to joining for the last couple of years. I am proud to be a part of the JaguarRSR team and to be working with Paul Gentilozzi. I have known Paul for some time now; he is a racer and we have a good partnership. It is also an honor to be representing the Jaguar brand and to have the opportunity to drive the XKR GT.
I am excited to be working with Cristiano (Da Matta). He is an extremely talented driver and it will be an honor to call him my teammate. We are both from Brazil, actually from the same city. We have always been battling with each other on the track, my fondest memory was in 2002 when we fought for the Champ Car World Series Championship title, he won and I finished second. It will be nice to have him on my side, to work with him instead of trying to beat him.”
Cristiano Da Matta, co-driver of the #99 JaguarRSR XKR GT
“I have had a great career in open-wheel cars, and I feel that it is now time to begin a new chapter in my life. I have always admired GT racing, so I am excited to get started and to be a part of the American Le Mans Series with JaguarRSR. Working with Paul (Gentilozzi), someone who has experience in GT racing, couldn’t be a better situation for me. He will be a great teacher and I will be able to learn a lot from him. Driving for Jaguar is something big; a big responsibility in one way and a big pleasure in another because I will be working on developing the car and showing the true glamour of the XKR out in its racing form.
Teaming up with Bruno is something special. Bruno and I have been very close and we have been racing together since our go-kart days. I have always been competing against him and I have never been cheering for him, so it is going to be a different experience for me. Having my first year in a series that is team focused, where you share the driving duties, with him as my driving partner is going to be very memorable and enjoyable.”

ALMS/ILMC Round 1 - 59th Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring
Entry list * http://www.americanlemans.com/files/eve ... _Entry.pdf * Normal ALMS entryt distinguish ILMC-participants in the visible with a zero, for example, Falken Tire Porsche's "017"
It's here! American Le Mans Series and Intercontinental Cup in Le Mans this year will start its life as America's largest - and bumpy - the sports car event, Sebring 12-hour run. And setting the highest rate since the early 2000s.
Prototypes are expected to peak this year's World Cup but first a small sandbaggaus sharpest tip for the ACO have been told they go Balance of Performance early in the season - and I understand that the margin is only two per cent. Likeness between the petrol and diesel in most Bickering Aston Martin does not even have a presence in Florida, because it has a brand new AMR ONE prototype ready before the race from Sebring. But the LMP1-setting seems in any case quite delicious: Peugeot and HighCroft brand new cars, Rebellion Lola new Toyota engines Oreca last year, 908 plays, and the Audi R15 + + last race (and, ironically, the first modern car Sebring). When the case is the first time in competition in the proportion of cars, Audi and Oreca racer can reach up to victory - then how many were filled with ACO's orifice and ball receptacle at any time. And the new HighCroft Wirth creation huteralta affected. So, fine dining.
The same can not, unfortunately, to say the end of the ALMS season. At the moment, sure P1 entry Long Beach and its post-Games is only a couple, and they were composed of Dyson and Cytosportin vässähäneestä Lola Lola Aston Martin. Well, audio-visually, at least everything is okay is a little too LMP2 non-existent, Level 5-rolls rotating in circles close together. Sebring is seen as a consolation after all, one Oak armada ILMC-entry-driven and Signatechin Oreca Nissan. The fifth participant already took the briefcase and left.
GT classes are divided into two millions of years the first time in the GT2 category, and LMGTE LMGTE Pro Am. Although ALMS: IMSA's case, has decided that the Pro-Class will continue to be designated only as "GT". GTE-Am class to be used only here in Sebring and Petit Le Mans in October. Thus, all the ALMS's standard-participants can battle against each other in a single gategoria.
As prototypes, we see the combination of race and the ALMS ILMC-participants. Pro-class against each other are Corvette, BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, Jaguar, Lamborghini and Panoz - AM class we will see the Aston Martin Vantage. Jetalliance new GT2 Lotus Evora do not, unfortunately, had time until the Sebring, but will be involved in the May 1000 km of Spa race.
GT2 will offer once again the race (and throughout the year) the best show, that's where there is no doubt about it. Ferrari teams leave period and the 430 has that brand new F458, respectively. While, for understandable reasons Sebring part of teams still "must use his" drive the old car, it's not necessarily a bad thing at all - can old red lady to inject other defeat yet last year. Profit is expected to conduct purely American series this year focused on Ris, BMW and the Corvette factory team Flying Lizard as well as between the piggies. To keep the truth tulenevat Panozin creepy Abruzzi Tuning, RSR's unreliable Jaguar (if you even get their cars to move), and West Racing, a brand new Lamborghini.
Motorists, parents and amateur riders for GTE AM has previously been mentioned for reasons wholly-ILMC playground participants in this race.
The new TV agreements ALMS.n mean, the fact that Speed TV "is called ByeBye, and ESPN and ABC have taken over television.
All 56 enrolled in the entry for this morning took part in the sessions, including the Jaguars earlier in the week unreliable. IMSA ordered Formula Le Mans teams, the smaller tubes in order to obtain differences in P2 cars bigger, but it seems that even with well-hung (So if the exchange has already been done).
Peugeot ghost round the pole position. Cytosportin slow Lola Aston outlasted HighCroft Acura, which is in itself worth the tribute performance. And were the fastest gasoline P1!.
ORECA Peugeot squad beat the factory cars to claim victory in the Sebring 12 Hours on Saturday.
A fantastic race and a great vibe. This new 908's and the old slow HDi FAP at the same time bringing races is perhaps the best strategy for Peugeot in years ... if the new factory in Le Mans cars are spreading, Oreca is certainly grabs a straw offered to them. Peugeot will benefit in any case, Any publicity is good publicity. GT2 BMW-BMW-Corvette-Corvette, all the difficulties, then predicts a better year for M & M's cars. Flying Lizards and Risi Compotizion while unusually crappy Sebring, although the 458's case, the result was quite understandable. Porsche lost ...

Le Mans Series to start the new season very interesting marks. ACO's new Intercontinental Cup factory Le Mans team is dominated by three of the five series of executables weekends (minus the PR & Estoril), so that what remains of the series here? Well, at least in a safe and familiar setting of local entrepreneurs, prototype & GT-side, the factory and private teams effort .. Only with this information, however, seems strange to think of why the series would like to get rid ILMC from?
In any case. In the series last year, the first time in race conditions, Paul Ricard race debut in France has once again been selected open season. This year's legendary 1000 km length of the race finally rejected (for example, even though it is maintained the title of Span), and all the events will last for six hours solid. Thus, even Le Castelletti last year's extra-long 8-hour marathon has been shortened to more compact form ... ie no longer understand it can not happen again the same confusion amusing than last year's event, when the post-race press conference, it was noted that the event divided into double points achieved in the amount of traffic, thanks to.
The guest list for the future on a weekend is quite typical, and a prototype unit will continue to laugh at ALMS's responsible. HTTT plays might not see the Audi this year - thank god - but the Sebring debut late Aston Martin had planned to launch a brand new AMR One of the race. Emphasis on the word was - still in the provisional list was in fact a British team has lost a series of their own pages from the updated entry. I have not followed the recent news related to the car, but I do not necessarily believe this to be true - especially when you talk to them three days ago, published in the Official preliminary article. So if the car does not see race, expect a profit Rebellion P1 ... as long to learn at last to be wasting this opportunity! But the GT2 in action, however, it will happen anyway, of course.
Eurosport television contract to display the actual series has ended, but the joyful news of the good old Motors TV will show the entire six-hour race live. All track events can also, of course, listen to live Radio Le Mans. Also updated the live timing should appear on the series web site in the coming days.
