Zitat von OlgaAllison may not be Newey but hes considered highly innovative as an engineer plus the fact that he does very well with a limited budget. i would be happy with Allison and Kimi in McLaren...
I was just thinking about that it is funny that Lopez mentioned o9ther teams also being interested in Kimi, Button's contract expires at the end of the season. It would be interesting to see Mclaren going for Allison and Kimi. But that is wild speculation. Button is the golden child at Mclaren.
Golden? For me he is good but for sure not a wdc worth it driver... Wouldn't it be nice to end his career in macca?
Zitat von SpinsterIt is the same with all rumours... It is pretty obvious mclaren wants another designer
The McLaren team seems like the most likely landing point for Allison if he did go. Mercedes is filled with engineers. Red Bull have Newey. Ferrari seem to be keeping the faith in Tombazi's..

Yes well that is what Whitmarsh seems to think according to all of the reports.

I dont think Withmarsh is that bad, a lot of it comes from Lewis fans who were unhappy with the treatment he got. They have point but at the same time Mclaren where very similar and even worst when Kimi also used to drive for them and no one kept calling for Ron Dennis's head. The same thing with Domenicali, since he has been the team manager they haven't won anything. The problem is only one team can win every year, and Red is at a special peak. It is a whole team effort.
Zitat von Olgathing is Lotus must continue be good in their own way as much as possible NOW since Kimi is there NOW.
if we pass this year with a great result then we must hope for the best possible combination next year.
Yes I agree Lotus must treat this as their last chance. Many team might switch development to next year's car, so perhaps Lotus could stay in touch better this year on the developmental front. The problem is you just never know if you will get another change very quickly after big rule changes. There is always the unfortunate BMW example to think about.
