Happy to hear of some improvement, even if its small, they were able to get him back to his country where the family can have more support from their loved ones.
quoteA Statement from the Bianchi Family | 30 December 2014
Nice, France
The parents of Jules Bianchi, Philippe and Christine, would like to provide the following update regarding Jules’ medical situation:
“As we reach the conclusion of a difficult year for our family, we wanted to take this opportunity to provide a further update regarding Jules’ medical situation, per our pledge to communicate continued information, when appropriate, to his many fans.
“It was a significant and very comforting step for us to be able to bring Jules home to France last month, to continue his rehabilitation surrounded by his family and friends. This is very important for Jules and also for us.
“Since that time, Jules has received the very best treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Le Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU) and now at the CHU’s rehabilitation centre for this kind of trauma.
“Jules’ neurological status remains unchanged; he is unconscious but able to breathe unaided. Whilst there is no significant information to report, we take a great deal of comfort from the fact that Jules continues to fight, as we knew he would, and this has enabled the medical professionals caring for him to commence the planned, but very painstaking, programme of rehabilitation therapy.
“As we reflect on the events of the past few months, we would like to acknowledge once again the overwhelming warmth and affection shown towards our son. These continue to be challenging times for our family, but the knowledge that he has touched the lives of so many people all around the world has helped us through.
“We would also like to acknowledge the respect and support shown by the media towards our family during this time, for which we are extremely grateful.
“We will continue to provide information when it is possible to do so and our sincere appreciation to everyone who continues to pray for Jules.”
An update from Jules father today. Its in french. I use google.translate.... Please don´t forget to pray for this poor boy
quoteF1: Philippe Bianchi gives news of his son Jules is still in a coma in Nice
April 11, 2015 - 16:00 Camille Komaël
Philippe Bianchi, Jules's father, spoke to Nice-Matin in publishing this Saturday to give news to all those who continue to support the old Marussia driver and his family in this difficult time. After initially supported Japan, Jules Bianchi had been repatriated to France, Nice, Saint Roch hospital. Philippe Bianchi revealed today that he is no longer in the hospital, while Jules stays in the city of Nice.
The father of Jules Bianchi maintains that her son is fighting, but remains in a coma... "From a medical point of view, his condition is stable, it is fairly autonomous No physical problem all his organs function normally without assistance. But for now, it remains unconscious, in a coma. "
Yet there are signs of improvement. In Japan, the parents of the young French had received very bad news, hopeless. Since then, things have changed, and France, doctors are more positive. But we must be very patient, and Philip Bianchi explains that "neurologically, the doctors told us that there is no specific intervention to do."
The family can not wait Jules and support in his fight. Sometimes there are signs that give great hope. "From time to time, at his bedside, we see that things are happening At times, it is more" active ", it moves more, his hand us greenhouse ... But is it mere reflex reactions or real? Hard to know. "
Philippe Bianchi does not forget all of Jules friends, colleagues, but also its supporters around the world, still, and always send messages of support, and wishes to thank them, saying it will provide news about the Jules's condition when there will
Short before the Monaco GP there was a new statement from Jules dad. We thought more often to him when we stay in Nice. Hard to know that he is in a hospital in the same town. On the last day I visited a church and inflamed a candle for him.
quoteJules Bianchi's recovery now 'stagnant', says F1 driver's father By Ian Parkes Thursday, May 21st 2015, 18:57 GMT
Jules Bianchi's father says his son is continuing to fight for his life, but concedes they have started to think of the worst-case scenario.
Since his accident in last October's Japanese Grand Prix, Bianchi has spent almost the last eight months in a battle for survival.
After two months at a hospital in Yokkaichi close to the Suzuka circuit, the Manor driver was then transferred to a facility in his home city of Nice where he has since remained.
Although Bianchi is no longer in an artificial coma, the 25-year-old remains unconscious with the prognosis grim.
"The first thing is Jules is alive, that's the most important thing for us," said Bianchi's father Philippe, speaking to Canal+.
"He's fighting with the weapons he has, but in neurological terms I'm not sure he is able to do much now.
"Seeing him fighting gives a lot of hope to his loved ones, and it's important for us.
"While there is life, there is hope, even though after a while you are hoping for a miracle. Every day is difficult.
"The situation is stagnant. Jules' neurological progress is not what we would like it to be.
"When we get up every morning we think of Jules' life, we think also of his death.
"We have to think about death because we are in a situation where we know a lot of things can happen. It's terrible.
"I think we all stopped living that day, the fifth of October. It's something you can never expect.
"It's not what Jules wants, being in a hospital bed. It's not his life, it's not what we want either. But we have to keep hope."
It was a year ago at last year's Monaco Grand Prix that Bianchi secured a ninth-place finish for the team then known as Marussia.
Jules Bianchi tribute
They remain the marque's only points in its five-and-a-half-year history, with Manor this weekend commemorating the achievement with a specially-commissioned wristband.
Believing his son will be able to feel the energy generated from the race just 20 kilometres away, Bianchi Sr added: "It was Jules' dream to score points in Formula 1, and he did it with Marussia.
"I was there, and I was lucky enough when Jules finished the grand prix that I was the first person he took into his arms because I was on my own when he finished. Those are incredible moments.
"Jules is here, despite the shock [accident] he had. He's still here and he's fighting.
"All of these people thinking about him gives Jules strength. He can feel it and it's beautiful. We're very touched by it."
quoteBianchi's father "less optimistic" about recovery
Jules Bianchi's father Philippe says he is now more pessimistic about the chances of his son recovering from the injuries he suffered at the Japanese Grand Prix last year.
The former Marussia driver remains in a coma in a Nice hospital nine months after his accident at Suzuka.
His family remain at his bedside but, in an interview with France Info on Monday, Philippe Bianchi said he was not encouraged by the current situation.
"It's unbearable, it's a daily torture," Philippe Bianchi said. "We sometimes feel like we're going crazy, because for me, it certainly is more terrible than if he had died.
"For we're not able to help him more than we can."
No significant progress
Recovering from an accident like Bianchi's normally requires significant improvement within the first six months, something that has not happened in this case.
And although Philippe reveals that his son has been able to grasp the hand of people standing next to him, he is unsure if it is a conscious behaviour or just a reflex.
"Time goes by and I am now less optimistic than I may have been two or three months after the crash, when we could hope for a better evolution," he explained.
He added: "At some point, you need to be well-grounded and realise how serious the situation is."
Fearing after-effects
While emerging from his coma may be a miracle in itself for Bianchi, his father says that could open up fresh complications.
"If he finds himself with huge disabilities, we're pretty sure it's not at all what Jules would want," he said.
"We had talked about it. He told us that if he were to have an accident similar to Michael Schumacher's, if he were even just not to be able to drive anymore, it would be very hard for him to accept it. Because it was his life."
So it happened.... Sleep well Jules. Be strong family Bianchi.
