AutoToday is telling that Petrov might very well take Trulli's place this season

Would be great news! Trulli's time is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over!

I never liked Trulli he has done too much "busses on the circuit" for me...

I would like to see D'Ambrosio there...<img src=" title="blush" />

I think several are harsh on Trulli, the man's never been giving a proper chance, and when he did he was beating Alonso comfortably in 2004 until Flavio pulled the strings.

He's beaten lots of team-mates and only lost out to fair few, but they all have been close, and they were Frentzen in a season where he had more mechanical failures, and same when against Jenson Button with 9 retirements to Button's 5. And against Alonso in 2003 this reveresed next season. Beaten by Ralf in 2005 just by 2 points with 2 extra retirements.

In 2010 yeah he lost out to Kovalainen, but he had 10 retirements to Kovalainen's 5, he then went on to beat Kovalainen in 2011.

He might be moaning a lot about the car not suiting, well why shouldn't he be? He's at the back of the grid, driving a car which is not suited him, but to his team-mate. He was the "enthusiastic" one in 2010 despite all the mechanical failures. The man was rejuvanised when he finally got the power steering that he wanted, but he only got it for a few races until problems started again, frustrations about to creep in. Many drivers have moaned about the car not suiting them, it happens.

If I remember correctly, whenever Trulli got a half-decent car, especially at Toyota, he was the one getting the results, he got the car up the grid where it shouldn't have been in qualifying, of course it's going to hamper him in the race and he is going to go backwards from there.

In 2009 when the team had a decent car, it was Trulli the one that was getting the results, not Glock, even though Glock is more highly rated, Trulli bet him comfortably in both seasons. And it was Trulli getting the car into race competitive positions until something unfortunate happened to him.

Let's also not forget his drive from dead last on the grid in Australia that year, to finish 3rd, you don't see that often in the past 5 years.

I believe if he's still got it.

Of course I would like Petrov to get a race seat, as I find him exciting and aggressive. But Jarno's getting a lot of stick and always had throughout his career. Getting labelled "The Trulli Train" for what? For having exceptional qualifying performances and the car's race pace letting him down?

His qualifying performances were always a joy to watch, and his win in Monaco was cool, calm and collected, where he kept several faster cars behind him.

Really? You think so? Only in classification table.
For me Heikki ripped apart jarno last season in qualifying and was muc better in races too.

Qualifying is one thing, race pace is another, if you look at their race pace they are both very similar. Last year it was the other way round when Kovalainen beat Trulli, Trulli was overall better in race pace, but mechanical failures let him down, this year it's vice versa.

Russian media currently discussing latest words of his manager:

Zitat
"we can't do any announcements yet. Negotiations are continuing and any rumours that appear at the moment are not true. What is the latest date possible? Information can appear at any moment. Bruno Senna appeared in F1 in the middle of the season. A similar variant might be possible with Vitaly. We have many variants." his manager said in the phone conversation

If you ask me - they have neither any real variants nor enough money

there is not confirmed information in Russian press that Petrov finally got a necessary backing form Lada and Lukoil to get a place in Caterham as a racing driver. Apparently they found 15m USD, which is enough to pay for place and to pay Trulli a compensation
