Raikkonen not about to forgive Perez

Kimi Raikkonen feels just as angry towards Sergio Perez now as he did following the Monaco Grand Prix.

After the race the Lotus driver said Perez should be "punched in the face" for trying to pull off an audacious overtaking manoeuvre that resulted in contact and forced Raikkonen to make an extra pit stop. The Finn was running fifth before the collision but ended up tenth by the chequered flag.

On his arrival in Montreal he made clear that he is still angry about the lost points.

"I don't feel any different now because it doesn't change the fact that he ****ed up our race," he said. "Even if you asked one year from now it's still the same ending. We got one point back but it doesn't take away that it wasn't right."

Raikkonen said he would not bring the issue up at the drivers' briefing as FIA race director Charlie Whiting has already spoken to Perez.

"I spoke with the stewards and they thought it was a racing incident," he added. "They said I did nothing wrong but obviously there has to be somebody who did something wrong. I don't think it's going to change anything but Charlie spoke to Perez. I don't know what they talked about."

He added that there are only a few drivers on the grid that he trusts in wheel-to-wheel combat.

"Sometimes you have to be [more careful] with some guys because you cannot trust them," he said. "With the top five guys you trust them, and you know if they are there they are not going to turn into your line and they are going to race fair. We can be hard but we can be fair, it's okay to be aggressive but you have to have some idea behind an overtaking manoeuvre and not just hope that your rival is going to move over. Certain guys will race hard and fair and some guys you don't know what to expect."

Meanwhile, Lotus team-mate Romain Grosjean is facing a 10-place grid penalty this weekend for a collision with Daniel Ricciardo at Monaco. Grosjean believes the penalty is unfair.

"I don't compare with others, but I think it was too harsh to be honest," Grosejan said. "That's my point of view, but it's here and we have to take it and know that the best position we can start in is 11th."

Kimi sit next to Perez during the autograph hour

I actually thought they would put Kimi and Perez in the press conference together.

Me too, maybe they were afraid of what Kimi could say LIVE <img src=h" title="hih" /> thank God he didn't stabbed him with the pen <img src=h" title="hih" />
I remember PĆ©rez admiring Kimi not long ago, I wonder if that changed <img src=" title="hmm" />

Here's something we don't see very often: Kimi actualy making his point loud and clear not once but several times.

http://adamcooperf1.com/2013/06/06/raik ... to-expect/

I think this explanation of the incident between him and Perez leaves no doubt about Kimi's point of view. And of course I agree with him. Kimi was in the middle of the track and braking exactly in the same place every lap, Checo was just entering the corner to fast on the hopes Kimi would move over. Kimi actually moved once and Checo had to cut the chicane because he couldn't even make the corner himself. Then he tried again and Kimi kept his racing line and collided. Then the stewards told Kimi did nothing wrong. But as Kimi said, then someone else did because otherwise there shouldn't have been a colision!

Formula 1 - Raikkonen expects Perez discussion
Kimi Raikkonen expects Sergio Perez's aggressive approach to be discussed in the drivers' briefing at the Canadian Grand Prix, even though he sees little point in further complaining about his Mexican rival.

The Finn is still angry at the way his Monaco GP race was wrecked after a collision with Perez, later telling his team on the radio that he wanted to punch the McLaren driver.
Although Raikkonen has no desire to speak to Perez about the matter, he did query the situation with the race stewards in Monaco to find out their feelings.
"I spoke with the stewards and they thought it was a racing incident, but I don't really see it like that," said Raikkonen ahead of the Grand Prix in Montreal.
"They said that I did nothing wrong but obviously there has to be somebody who does. But it is not going to change anything. I know that Charlie has spoken to Perez and I don't know what he spoke about.
"Obviously what happens after there will be discussed here."
Raikkonen has watched video replays of the incident since Monaco and says his views on the crash have not been changed since the weekend.
"I don't feel any different now," he said. "It doesn't change the fact that he messed our race up.
"Even if you ask one year from now, it will still have the same ending. We got one point back, but it still doesn't take away the thing that it wasn't right."
He added: "There was nothing else that I could have done apart from just drive straight.
"I am using my own line and I could easily have made the corner, but obviously if he comes too fast and can't stop, while I was in the middle of the circuit, then he can't get past me unless I move over.
"And I don't really feel that I should move over if the other guy comes too fast. I did that already, five or six laps earlier, purely because I saw he came too fast and he would have hit me."

<img src=" title="ty" /> Kriss

Hard to extrapolate who is quickest this weekend. Mercedes, especially Nico, seem to be pretty quick. Lewis and himself were about 1s quicker than the rest of the field at the beginning of FP1 when all teams were on the intermediate compound. Again, it's hard to know exactly what this means.

Vettel's pace on inters towards the end of the session was promising. This is normally not a favourite track for Red Bull.

One interesting piece of commentary I picked up on during the session was: Romain has not finished worse than P6 in any FP1 or FP2 session prior to the Canadian GP weekend. I think he really needs to up his game quickly if he has any hopes of remaining with Lotus for 2014. Canada was a great weekend for him last year. He could certainly use a repeat performance. His last stint seemed to go forever and he seemed to go quicker and quicker. Hopefully Lotus will have that same advantage this weekend <img src=" title="holy" />
