Don´t understand why everybody belittles little Seb! What else does he have to do? And yeah Lewis might be fast but he doesn´t use his brain very often!

Alonso: Vettel is not on the same level as Hamilton is
18.01.2012 15:35
Lewis Hamilton is a better driver than the reigning WDC Sebastian Vettel. According to Fernando Alonso.
Vettel won his second consecutive championship last season. Hamilton again was 5th last season.
- Lewis is really fast, aggressive and completely concentrated on what is important - he is only interested in winning. Sebastian hasn't reached that level yet, Alonso told Sport-Bild -magazine.
- I know that Vettel is a double WDC but he just isn't yet on the same level as Hamilton is, Alonso added.
Wow what a snake Alonso! " title="mad" /> He's even worse than Hammy. " title="roll" /> Let's see what he has to say if Hammy beats him this year! " title="ha" /> If Kimi can't win a race then i rather Finger Kid wins it! I am rooting for both Kimi & Finger Kid! " title="hula" />

Alonso's statement is very clear that he thinks he is far more superior than Vettel. He references Hammy bcos Hammy equaled him in points in 2007 and they did race together in the same team so it can be a direct comparison and he uses that to "belittle" Seb.
He comes off as very unrealistic in his personal assessment bcos everyone else without the tinted glasses can see what calibre little Seb is. And we all know Seb does his talking and fighting on the track, just like Kimi... it also may not be obvious to Alonso but Seb trashed Webber this year so what does he really think about Webber privately then?

My thought is aligned with yours, Jinxie. I think you hit the nail on the head.. Alonso is a pretty witty character IMO. If he were to admit that Vettel is better than Hamilton, he is indirectly admitting Vettel is better than himself. Just go back to the teammate comparison like you did in 2007. If Hamilton > Alonso based off of the teammate comparison, then take the next step. That leads us as fans to extrapolate the following: if he says Vettel > Hamilton, he is also implying Vettel > himself (Alonso).
As for Webber: It's pretty obvious what Alonso thinks of Webber. Just read his comments post-SPA after the 'pass of the year' that Webber put on Alonso. Alonso rates Webber quite highly. And he also is a personal friend to Alonso.

I love this. I don't think I've agreed with anything more than this whole quote. I might even put it on a t-shirt. " title="hug" /> h" title="hih" /> <3

I tried to translate that article, K.. And It's hard to interpret exactly what the article is trying to say. From my understanding: it sounds like Raquel is out to make other women jealous who might be chasing Fernando right now. h" title="hih" />
ZitatFernando Alonso reckons Ferrari still have a lot of work to do before Melbourne, saying they are only "20 percent" there with their new F2012.
Ferrari's first pre-season test got off to a subdued start with the Italian stable failing to match the lap times set by Red Bull, McLaren and even Lotus.
That changed on the final day when Alonso clocked a 1:18.877 to finish Friday's running at the very top of the timesheets and second overall, his time only slower than Romain Grosjean's from Day three.
"It is still early and there is much work still to do to understand the many changes to the car compared to last season," he told Spanish daily AS.
"We are maybe at 20 percent of what we need to know but in the next test we will try to achieve the rest."
The one aspect, though, where Alonso is confident Ferrari have improved and have a great understand is with regard to the Pirelli tyres.
Last season the Italian stable struggled in qualifying as they were not able to get heat into the rubber, especially with the harder compounds.
This year Alonso reckons Ferrari, who hired Bridgestone's former F1 chief Hirohide Hamashim early in January, are on the right road to resolving that issue.
"I think we've managed to make better use of the tyres right from the first lap, which we could not do a year ago," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"What definitely needs improving is the aerodynamics and the reliability.
"To do only 40 laps in eight hours is a bit little, in Barcelona we must succeed in covering at least a hundred a day."
As for predictions for the upcoming season, the Spaniard said: "Where will I be in Melbourne? No idea but then I really do not know where I am here (Jerez), what position we are in."
