i'm not sure i can reply to Anith's post since i never keep races in my mind.. " title="red" />
i guess Anith thinks i hype too much over Newey himself.. h" title="hih" />
just something i read on Alonso: Dimitris Papadopoulos wrote at a greek site that according to La Stampa, Alonso got mad at Fry's comments after the Indian quali that they should be at a better grid position but they did not have a perfect day. Alonso took it personally and was ready to write on twitter: "I would like to inform my 1.2 million followers that i have not seen any developments at the back of my car since May " ....the higher forced at ferrari got in the middle to bring peaci in the team.
Fernando Alonso almost lost his temper ahead of last Sunday’s Indian grand prix, the Italian newspaper La Stampa reports.
The newspaper said the Spaniard was furious after the Maranello based team’s technical boss Pat Fry blamed the drivers for a sub-standard qualifying performance.
“The result reflects our current potential,” said Fry after Alonso qualified fifth in India.
“But in order to be where we wanted and where we were capable of being, we needed to be perfect today and we weren’t,” he added.
Alonso went into the Indian GP weekend bemoaning the fact that, despite always talking up Ferrari’s improvements, the F2012 has not substantially improved for several races.
And his characterisation of his title battle as a head-to-head with Red Bull’s Adrian Newey might also be interpreted as a slight on Newey’s Ferrari equivalents.
La Stampa said that when Alonso heard about Fry’s post-qualifying comments, he “went into a rage”.
“(Stefano) Domenicali tried to calm him down … but the discussion continued until 1am,” the report added.
The newspaper said Alonso drafted on his phone a message to his Twitter fans that read: “I want my 1.2 million followers to know that the key aerodynamic components at the rear of the Ferrari are still the same as they were in May”.
La Stampa reported: “It took a lot of persuading Alonso not to press the submit button.”
Domenicali commented: “You (the media) are good at creating stories that do not exist.”
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Alonso is right to push the engineers.”
Felipe Massa, meanwhile, revealed to Brazil’s Totalrace that his F2012 was not in the same specification as Alonso’s in India last weekend.
“I had half as much as him,” said the Brazilian, “and even more will arrive in Abu Dhabi.”
In the wake of the reported Twitter affair, Alonso told his 1.2 million followers that his fighting spirit is intact for the remaining three races of 2012.
“If the sword breaks, fight with your hands,” he said, quoting a samurai. “If they cut your hands, push the enemy with your shoulders, even your teeth.”
Zitathttp://f1grandprix.motorionline.com/alo ... -In-india / "Domenicali tried to calm him down, but the discussion continued until one o'clock at night," says La Stampa. Alonso, according to rumors, had already prepared a message to send to all his followers on Twitter: "I want my 1.2 million followers know that the main aerodynamic components at the rear of the Ferrari are the same as in May." Would then be followed by a heavy persuasion by the team to prevent the pilot to press the "Publish" button.
For me, the story here isn't about the lack of updates in the Ferrari, we all can see how the car has progressed even for Massa. The story here is how Alonso reacts when he's mad, how he treats people and how he thinks he's God. I bet Domenicalli is already missing Kimi's calmed persona
For me Alonso doesn't deserve a third title, and seeing how things have turned out for him since 2010... apparently someone from above thinks the same way I do.
Actually costa is not there right, i meant tombazis... slip of the tongue
Well what i really wanted to show was, that there is nothing exceptional about Alonsos results, not when you compare to vettels. I do think ferrari had their one lap tyre problems from the beginning, but at the same time vettel had major issues on saturdays at the beginning of the season too. In that respect Alonso has prevailed, coz webber did outqualify and out race Vettel
Monza I agree. Also he was really fortunate with the weather and his pitstops have always been spot on. at valencia it helped him a lot The one argument that could be made is, Alonso regularly qualified well ( considering the car ) and vettel didnt. But otherwise this season is very much vettels as much as it is alonsos I remember after watching the spa race, i said vettel is gonna be champion, he had a champions drive. So if people are gonna go gaga over alonso's valencia and malaysia. Vettel deserves credit for his china & spa
Zitat Fernando was on the edge, that Ferrari looked as if it would fly off the circuit any moment. He was kicking dust on the inside kerb of turn 13 chicane. At turn 15 , he was throwing the car in and balancing it on the yaw , making corrections mid corner every single lap. His downshifts accurate ever single time , you could easily make out he had grabbed the car by the scruff of the throat and was giving it everything he had.
The fans went mad ! Ferdi enticed even the F1 virgins in the crowd who had readily given their allegiance towards the great Schumacher or the champion/past race winner Vettel . They all gasped as they noticed the over steer moments. This was what people had paid for , the "added" experience of watching a race live. This is what many miss whilst watching a race on TV. You could actually feel the aggression, the intensity of the Ferrari driver and stand back and truly agree with him that he indeed produced 60 qualifying laps.
not sure where should i post this " title="hmm" />
Zitat Lewis Hamilton says Fernando Alonso is better than Sebastian Vettel
By Tom Cary, Abu Dhabi
7:29PM GMT 02 Nov 2012
Vettel has won the last four races, leading for 205 consecutive laps in the process, to establish a 13-point lead over Alonso in the title race.
However, the fact that Vettel’s only other win this year came in Bahrain back in April has led some to suggest that it was the decisive upgrade introduced to the Adrian Newey-designed RB8 in Singapore in September which has proved the difference rather than any particular brilliance on Vettel’s part.
Hamilton has now fanned the flames by stating that Vettel “misses” a lot of corners on his qualifying laps and yet still manages to claim pole.
“I think lots of people in the paddock wish they could have Adrian’s car so they could show that they’re just as competitive as Sebastian,” Hamilton said. “Fernando, for me, is more accurate. He hits all the apexes [the racing line through a corner].
“Sebastian misses four apexes on a single lap and still goes quickest. He goes off and he still goes quickest. And I think ‘Holy crap, I couldn’t do that lap even if I was on the limit’. His car is just that far ahead of everyone else’s.”
Fernando Alonso says Ferrari shouldn't be afraid to push the limit of the regulations Spaniard also expects team to start 2013 in better shape to this year

They said they will go radical this time last year. radical didnt proove to be fruitful . So now they want to find a ddrs or exotic diffusor. I suppose the easiest way to get to the top is by a) geeting your basics right b) giving full attention and effort on everything.
The problem of the Ferrari this year was qualifying. And the best explanation I've read to date has to do with both the DRS and diffuser. Ferrari could not understand why their diffuser didn't "seal" as well as the other teams when the DRS was open. As a result, Ferrari had less downforce in comparison to their competition during DRS activation. If you want to see what I mean, watch an onboard of Sebastian Vettel (formula1.com) during his qualifying lap in Austin. He had his DRS open during the first "ess" of the esses in Austin. Yes, all through Turn #3 Vettel had DRS open. I don't think Ferrari would have been able to keep their DRS open through this area based off of the rumours.
Ferrari will start the year "stronger" to the competition in 2013. But remember, Ferrari had a "dream" start despite their lack of pace to the competition. Fernando won the 2nd GP of the year. And I believe he was only a few points behind the WDC lead after 5 races. And was leading the WDC after 10. Ferrari were exceptionally reliable (Kimi was the only other pilot I can recall who had similar or better reliability). And their starts were arguably better than any other team on the grid. They will need to carry this over.
