“This weekend was very complicated and again today in the race, I wasn’t able to give my maximum. Up to the first stop, the car behaved well, but after fitting the Mediums the situation got tricky, with higher degradation than expected, so I lacked grip and after a few laps I began to have problems with the front end. I tried to save the tyres in any way possible, slowing in some parts of the track and turning into the corners, but even so I had to take on a set of Softs earlier than expected, which meant I had to make a third stop in the closing stages. Now we will continue to work to try and solve our problems. It won’t be easy, but we won’t give up all the way to the end of the last race.”
quoteMarco Mattiacci: “Working for the future” You better do!
“After all the news this week, today, it was particularly pleasing to see that the grandstands were packed. The response of the American public was an encouraging sign, which shows how much the interest in our sport is growing in a country where we would like to strengthen its presence. It was a shame we could not give our fans a better result, with a Ferrari capable of fighting for the top places. Today, with Fernando, we were able to maintain his start position, while Kimi had some of those difficulties that we are working hard to solve as a team, to ensure he has a better car. On track, we continue to learn a lot and at home we are working tirelessly to reach our goals as soon as possible.”
Another F1 weekend over.. And it's bittersweet to say it's my first that I don't have to see someone leave and return to Europe. The goodbyes are always very hard, but they won't be nearly as difficult this year.
What a sad and difficult race for Kimi. I think you're right Andrea. I've never heard Kimi say "hate" before either.
Each race seems like an eternity at this point and next year can't come quick enough. I think it's very obvious at this point that Fernando is gone. Mattiaci's quotes about helping Kimi with next years car tells me he is looking toward the future. And that future doesn't include Alonso.
I'll post more later.. For now we enjoy a and . Soon we will have some lunch and go to the airport.
Sonny, hard time as Kimi (and Seb) fan this year Take care and see you soon!
Another article. Positive pressur is still pressur! And I´m sure Kimi make himself a lot of pressur
quoteFerrari F1 team says Kimi Raikkonen is under 'positive pressure'
Ferrari Formula 1 boss Marco Mattiacci says Kimi Raikkonen is under "positive pressure" to raise his game, after another disappointing race in the US Grand Prix.
The 2007 F1 world champion finished a lapped 13th in Sunday's Austin race, while team-mate Fernando Alonso again scored points for the Scuderia by completing the top six.
Raikkonen now lies more than 100 points adrift of Alonso in the drivers' championship, but Ferrari team principal Mattiacci played down the ramifications of another lacklustre race for the Finn.
Raikkonen "hates" current situation
When asked by AUTOSPORT whether pressure is growing on Raikkonen to justify his place in the team, Mattiacci said: "Positive pressure. It's important for pressure to always be positive pressure.
"At the moment we need to avoid overreacting.
"We know there is an issue with him and the feeling of the car - too much understeering at the front of the car, and we know this has been an ongoing issue during the season.
"But we are a team, it's our driver, so we need to work on this."
Raikkonen admitted to reporters after the race that he hates the current situation he finds himself in at Ferrari, but remains hopeful a solution can be found.
"Obviously it's not a very easy thing to know what we should do," Raikkonen said.
"We keep trying things but we suffer with the same problem more or less.
"Is it the tyre, or is it a combination of things? Some races are a bit better but most of them it is the same story.
"It's a bit frustrating, but that's how it goes and we have to try and make the best out of it."
I feel soo empty about this season... poor Kimi, poor us, poor Ferrari.
Races are soo dull when Kimi can't do anything but struggle with that shitbox. Watching that onboard of Kimi after his second pitstop was really frustrating, soo much graining and understeer on those soft tyres.
Have a safe flight home Sonny, the atmosphere of a race usually makes up quite a lot. Hope you enjoyed it eventough the results
''In F1 tyre changes were 5 seconds of rest, in rally it is 10 minutes of hard work'' - Kimi Räikkönen

It was very enjoyable! I found a new spot to photograph the cars. And that track is awesome to watch F1 at. I can see multiple corners (T6 through t12) by sitting in one location. It's a great circuit to pay for General Admission and still get the best experience!
The city of Austin itself is also incredible. They have some amazing food (especially Barbeque, we waited in line for 4.5 hours one day!), great locally brewed beer and they do a phenomenal job of blocking off the downtown specifically for race fans entertainment. Plus, red bull did a demo run on the streets of Austin in front of the Capitol building this year. It's actually pretty easy to say this.. But I feel like the racing almost gets in the way of the Austin experience they do such a great job of everything else besides the race! And the people of the city are very friendly toward the race fans many will ask where you came from and what you think of their city. It's a great experience!
Here are two pics of Kimi straight out of my camera. I'll edit them in the future.. Just was reviewing a few pics from Austin. This is my new favorite spot to photograph at the circuit. You can get pretty decent pictures at 300mm (which is amazing at F1 for General Admission seating).
Boiudica: We definitely had a great time. The city has so much to offer and see when there isn't racing at the circuit. It really makes for an awesome experience! In addition, it is a great circuit to attend! I found a spot this year where I can see the cars leave the esses into T6 and watch them take every Turn through #12 (end of the long straight)! And I can also sit in the shade and photograph there
W: I have a few more pictures, but I didn't get them as sharp as the two that I posted. I want to edit them so the car looks more like Picture #1. The Ferrari is a very bright red color! I did not get any pics of the colors of the track. You have to take those pictures from the bridges over the circuit. And there are track employees that try to keep the people moving and prevent picture taking. Although, those rules are more lax on Friday (when the least amount of people are at the circuit).
Oh OK, I guess Sutton has all access and therefore he can take those kind of pics. Don't worry I'm not expecting professional pictures, I don't mind if the pics are not as sharp, you take better pics than anyone of us here anyway. I just wanted to ask just in case, because I really like those pics were you can also see the track colors. Like the ones we also see from Baharein and Abu Dhabi.
I'm so glad you had a great time and found that special spot to take your pictures.
I was amazed to see so many celebrities there. Nice to see Keanu Reeves, Mat Leblanc, Pamela Anderson and Tony Parker also enjoy F1.
I'll slowly be posting photos from my F1 experience down in Austin. I didn't photograph at the GP much.. But I took quite a few photos during the Red Bull display on the streets of Austin. Of course, I'll start with my favorite picture first. Look at this crazy boy doing 1-handed donuts on the streets of Austin..
