I'm sorry.. I can't contain my excitement anymore! I can't wait to fly to Austin!
I didn't think I'd be this excited to attend the GP given Kimi has struggled massively with the 2014 Ferrari challenger and it's definitely not going to improve this season.. But there are so many amazing events lined up in Austin. We just changed our flights so we can watch Red Bull run the 2011 F1 Car (RB7) and Vettel's Infiniti Eau Rogue Q50 in the streets of Austin on Wednesday in front of the capital building. Buxton is having his bash again on Thursday evening. And there is a huge fan fest with drivers showing up this year!!
I hope the race is as exciting as all of the events they have going on in conjunction with the GP. Wish more people could join!

You shouldn't apologize. I feel bad that you can't join. They have planned some great events in conjunction with the GP and it would have been an awesome experience. I'll try to post as much as I can on twitter so you can live vicariously through me
quoteMarussia F1 team set to miss United States Grand Prix as well
Marussia looks set to join Caterham in missing the United States Grand Prix after Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone said on Saturday neither team would travel to Austin.
Caterham looked set to miss the American race earlier this week after its management stepped back and gave control of the team to administrators, who are now seeking a new buyer to save the squad.
Marussia has also been struggling financially.
"Neither of those two teams are going to go to America," Ecclestone told Reuters.
Marussia raced with just one car in the previous race following Jules Bianchi's accident during the Japanese Grand Prix.
Formula 1 cars are due to be shipped by Formula One Management to Austin today.
With the absence of Marussia and Caterham, the grid will be reduced to 18 cars for the first time since the 2005 Monaco Grand Prix, when the BAR team was banned for two races for a technical infringement.
As revealed by AUTOSPORT on Friday, the FIA will not ask top teams to run a third car this season even with fewer than 20 cars on the grid.
The absence of Caterham and Marussia from the Austin grid comes after months of fruitless talks between F1 chiefs to find ways to reduce costs in the sport.
with only 18 cars or probably 17 as Vettel will not run, I wonder if they even bother with Q1?
I think that by Brazil and Abu Dhabi there will be so much drivers with PU penalties, we could be facing some races.
To bad for Vettel, definitely not his year. And to top his season, he will have to give up his trophy for the last 4 years over to Mercedes. Will he still be able to go to the FIA gala for Red Bull's P2 in the constructor's championship?
Quote: WHATEVER wrote in post #12Why is Vettel not going to run at Austin?
there is the option that if you have used the 5th part of all PU parts you can change whole PU and then start from pitlane. If you need it like Seb then this is actually better penalty then getting 10 places for each part especially as you take grid penalties to the next weekend if you don't use all. So it makes no sense for him to run at all in quali. It was already planned to do that in Sochi but RB didn't get all parts in time for the change.
quoteKimi Räikkonen (Ferrari): “So far I have had only one race in Austin. Last year I had to stop my season just before the U.S. Grand Prix because of my back surgery, so this will be only my second trip to Circuit of The Americas. It is a very challenging place and an interesting track to race. The first year the track was new and it was very slippery back then, but I heard from last year, that it was much better compared with the grip, so I am looking forward to returning there this time.I like Austin, the American style atmosphere is always great, and the people are very keen and knowledgeable on motor racing. They really live with the sport all weekend long.”
