Quote: Boudica wrote in post #17Has anyone seen the prices for the F1 app? It is 3 times the price of last year.
yes but what can you do? I need live timing.. so I paid would just be nice if it would also work then for that price!
the app should be connected to the website so you will get access on both if you paid once. but like everything this doesn't work yet either...
anyway back to racing Kimi's long run looked really good! I hope he will have good pace on the medium too. Pirelli said already that they could have brought the SS instead. Mercedes is clearly holding back, I just hope they won't be 1s or more ahead of all. and as we know from last year Williams will be faster in the race too. RB had some problems but expect them stronger too.
This is very true. You simply cant watch F1 without live timing, especially if you are used to it. I bought the monthly subscription, and during FP1 it didn't work, I thought at first first that you only got the lap times and NO sector times, or tyre information or the live tracker, when you buy the monthly subscription. I was really livid after FP1, for paying and basically getting nothing! Luckily I discovered that I had to delete the app, and then re-install the app again, and restore the subscription. So now it is working, although during FP2 it did not work for the first 20 minutes or so. And as you said I clearly thought you would have access to the desktop live timing as well, and of course that feature is not working.
To make a long story short, the whole live timing fiasco has really been handled pathetically. F1 needs to start being a bit more careful with the product that they are trying sell, it is becoming less and less every single year.
Yes I also hope Kimi can do just as well on the medium tyres, that will be the big thing. It is obvious that Mercedes are still quite far ahead. I really hope Ferrari have changed their behavior when it comes to free practice, I hope they are running with a representative amount of fuel. But we will not have to wait long too in order to find out.

I hope so too, Boudica.
I feel like Kimi has been a stronger race, as opposed to qualifier, since Michelin left the sport. Even during his first stint with Ferrari, I felt like Kimi was usually faster than Massa. This was evidenced by Kimi running away from Massa if they would qualify 1-2. Whereas Kimi would stay quite close to Massa during the races if he was out qualified. During his stint with Lotus, I think this theory was pretty self explanatory. He did out qualify Grosjean regularly until that dreaded tyre switch in 2013. During that switch, the rubber became harder. Which I think is exactly his problems in qualifying when you compare Bridgestone & Pirelli to his Michelin era. The tyres are just harder than what the Michelin's were.
I have a strong feeling that Kimi set his car up to be consistently quick during the race and may have sacrificed some single lap speed in doing so. But then again, Vettel could have done the same. Both did make mistakes in their flying laps during Q3. Regardless, I think Ferrari can take the fight to Williams. It'll be vital for Kimi to leapfrog Vettel off the start. Then I think he can handle Massa in a fight for the podium. My prediction is P3 for Kimi. Can't wait for the race
I reallly hope, he/they do well. The atmosphere in the team seems so much better. This can be positive for all the working people. They made an interview with Marc Gene in the Germany Sky. He said, he don´t feel such a positive climate since 5 years (thanks Fernando ) in the team. And Kimi and Seb have a big part on it And look at this picture, they are made yesterday after quali Touchy Kimi, imagine this with Nando!
Disappointing race, Ferrari screwed once more Kimis race I hope Mr Arrivabene will kick some asses But its good to see Kimi is comfortable with the car. He was fast! So I have hope for the season
After race conference: Rosberg to Vettel: "Are you actually disappointed your teammate didn't finish?" Seb: "Well I don't know about you 2, but we like each other!"
Maybe then let Kimi some space during the start Seb!
But Kimi don´t blame him.... CAHteJ-UYAEMgKQ.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
